ABOUT ARLUCENT ASSESSMENTS

Arlucent Assessments™ is an independent clinical assessment practice operating the Screening, Tracking, Analysis, and Evaluation layers of the STABLE™ behavioral continuity architecture. The practice extends the standard ASAM dimensional framework through The Arlucent Seventh Dimension™ (PFI), a structured analysis of behavioral coherence, value alignment, and behavioral stability across conditions. Services are limited to assessment only and do not include treatment, therapy, consultation, or ongoing clinical care.

The practice was established for situations requiring neutrality, clear boundaries, and a defined clinical role. Assessments are conducted without advocacy, representation, or alignment with desired outcomes — they are independent clinical documents.

The Arlucent Methodological Contribution

Arlucent Assessments™ are ASAM-informed clinical evaluations that extend the standard six-dimensional framework through The Arlucent Seventh Dimension™ (PFI), a structured analysis of behavioral coherence, value alignment, and behavioral stability across conditions.

The Arlucent Seventh Dimension™ was developed to address a recognized gap in existing assessment frameworks: while the ASAM Criteria evaluate severity, risk, and service need, they do not formally evaluate the consistency between stated recovery intent and observed behavioral patterns. The Arlucent Seventh Dimension™ provides this analytic layer through structured methodology developed within the broader Arlucent™ ecosystem.

Independent Clinical Assessor

Rafael Lewis, M.A., LADC is an independent clinical assessor and the founder of Arlucent Assessments™. Mr. Lewis is the developer of The Arlucent Seventh Dimension™ (PFI) and the author of the methodological framework underlying Arlucent's assessment architecture.

Evaluations are performed by the evaluating clinician, a doctoral student in counseling psychology at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, with professional experience in psychological and substance use assessment in regulated clinical settings. Training includes assessment methodology, diagnostic reasoning, documentation standards, and ethics specific to independent evaluation.

Mr. Lewis brings clinical assessment and administrative leadership experience in licensed treatment settings — including direct knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and the considerations that arise when assessment and treatment roles overlap.

Professional Accountability

All assessments are conducted by the evaluating clinician in accordance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards for clinical assessment. The evaluating clinician retains sole responsibility for clinical judgment, interpretation, and documentation.

Arlucent Assessments maintains formal policies on informed consent, confidentiality, boundaries of service, record handling, and ethical compliance. These policies preserve assessment independence and prevent role confusion or mischaracterization of services.

Professional Standards

Assessments are informed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria and are conducted by a Minnesota-licensed clinician in accordance with applicable professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. Evaluations are provided via secure telehealth for individuals physically located in Minnesota at the time of assessment.

Reports are structured for clarity, neutrality, and defensibility in regulated clinical, administrative, and legal contexts.

Commitment to Independence

Arlucent Assessments operates independently of referring parties, treatment providers, employers, legal representatives, and decision-making authorities.

Findings are based on clinical information and professional standards — not on what anyone hopes the assessment will say.

The evaluating clinician is not a treating provider, consultant, advocate, expert witness, or decision-maker. The role is evaluation and documentation — nothing more.

Scope Limitations

Arlucent Assessments does not provide:

  • Therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy
  • Treatment planning or treatment recommendations
  • Ongoing clinical care or follow-up services
  • Advocacy, representation, or case management
  • Fitness-for-duty determinations or legal opinions

Assessment reports do not direct care, mandate action, or substitute for treatment decisions made by other licensed providers.

Assessment reports are not insurance authorization documents and do not determine coverage or medical necessity.

All clinical assessments have inherent limitations. Evaluations are time-limited and based on information available at the time of assessment.  Findings may be influenced by variability in self-report and other contextual factors present at the time of evaluation. Clinical opinions reflect the information available at the time of evaluation and may warrant reconsideration as circumstances evolve.

Commitment to Informed Collaboration

Arlucent Assessments operates independently of treatment providers — and this separation is intentional.

Independent evaluation does not preclude limited professional communication when clarification of assessment findings is appropriate. Such communication does not constitute ongoing clinical involvement; it reflects a commitment to the integrity and clarity of the evaluation.

Clarity, integrity, and restraint are essential to ethical clinical practice. By defining what assessment is — and what it is not — Arlucent promotes informed collaboration while preserving the boundaries of independent evaluation.

Requesting an Assessment

If you are considering an independent clinical assessment, a brief intake questionnaire can help determine whether an evaluation is appropriate for your situation.

Estimated report delivery timelines are discussed following intake review and receipt of required documentation. Scheduled appointments are confirmed only after payment is received.
